Mental health among pupils of Viet Duc high school - Ha Noi 2013

Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang được tiến hành năm 2013 tại trường trung học phổ thông Việt Đức-Hà Nội. Mục
tiêu nghiên cứu: mô tả thực trạng sức khỏe tâm thần của học sinh trường trung học phổ thông Việt Đức-Hà Nội
và một số yếu tố liên quan. Mẫu nghiên cứu gồm 361 học sinh nam và nữ ở cả 3 khối lớp 10, 11 và 12. Các
học sinh đã tham gia điền phiếu câu hỏi về các vấn đề sức khỏe tâm thần, sử dụng thang đo SDQ 25 (Strength
and Difficulties Questionnaires 25) và các câu hỏi về thông tin cá nhân, gia đình và nhà trường. Số liệu thu thập
được xử lý và phân tích bằng các thuật toán thống kê: tỷ lệ %, test χ2, OR và 95% CI. Kết quả nghiên cứu cho
thấy: Tỷ lệ học sinh có vấn đề trung học phổ thông là 26,9%. Hình thái biểu hiện của trung học phổ thông học
sinh về nhóm quan hệ xã hội và bạn bè là cao nhất (29,6% và 28,9%), thấp nhất ở nhóm hiếu động và biểu hiện
cảm xúc (8,9 & và 11,4%). Học sinh bị cha/mẹ phạt khi bị điểm kém có nguy cơ mắc vấn đề trung học phổ thông
cao gấp 2,12 lần so với học sinh không bị cha/mẹ phạt, có ý nghĩa thống kê.
Summary:
A cross-sectional study was carried out at
Viet Duc High School-Hanoi in 2013. Study
objectives are to describe mental health status
among high school students and related factors.
A sample size of 361 male and female students
of three grade block (grade 10, grade 11 and
grade 12) was participated in this study. Participants
completed a self-reported questionnaires
including SDQ 25 (Strength and Difficulties
Questionnaires 25) to measure student’s
mental health and questions of demographic
characteristics, family and school factors. Data
was analyzed using health statistics techniques
including proportion, χ2 test, OR and 95% CI.
Study results showed: The prevalence of general
mental health problems among Viet Duc
high school students was 26.9%. Among five
subgroups of SDQ mental health, the highest
prevalence was accounted for friends’ relationship
(28.9%) and social relationship (29.6%)
while the lowest one belonged to emotional expression
(11.4%) and the hyperactive (8.9%).
Students who had penalty from parents due to
poor grades were likely to experience mental
health problems 2,12 times than students who
did not. Female students, students experiencing
parents‘ quarrels and/or teachers‘ punishments
may be at risk of mental health problem but not
statistical significance.
