Tình trạng dinh dưỡng, thiếu máu và thiếu vitamin A ở phụ nữ có thai tại huyện Phú Bình, Thái Nguyên
Nutritional status, anemia and vitamin A deficiency in pregnant women in Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province
Summary:
Nutritional and micronutrients status of
pregnant women are strongly correlated with
infant nutritional status. The study was conducted
in 424 pregnant women of 26-30 gestational
weeks to describe nutritional status, anemia
and vitamin A deficiency. The cross study’s
results showed that chronic energy deficiency
prevalence of pre-pregnant women was quite
high (32.4%). Average weight of pregnant
women was 51.3 kg. Pregnant women gained
more than 5.8 kg at 26-30-gestational-week.
The prevalence of anemia was 37.0%, which
was at moderate level of public health problem.
Its majority was at mild level anemia (26.1%).
The mean hemoglobin concentration was 113.8
g/l. The prevalence of sub clinical vitamin A
deficiency was at mild level of public health
significant problem 9.8% (2.2% of which was
vitamin A deficiency). The mean of serum retinol
in pregnant women was 1,39 mmol/L. There
was a significant difference in the distribution
of subjects having retinol concentration ≤ 1.4
μmol/l by age group (p <0.05). From that point
of view, we recommended that consideration
should be given to nutritional deficiencies of prepregnant
women and micronutrient deficiencies
of pregnant women as a public health problem,
and to continue to implement interventions to
improve micronutrients status.
