quả can thiệp sử dụng kết hợp hạt nêm và dầu ăn tăng cường 235 mcg vitamin A/ngày (tương đương 50%
trước can thiệp lên 1,10 μmol/l sau can thiệp (p <0,001) và 1,02 μmol /l ở nhóm chứng so với nhóm can
thiệp (p <0,05). Tỷ lệ trẻ có nguy cơ thiếu vitamin A tiền lâm sàng giảm có ý nghĩa từ 74,2% trước can thiệp
xuống 41,3% (p<0,001). Tỷ lệ trẻ có nguy cơ thiếu vitamin A tiền lâm sàng ở nhóm trẻ sử dụng thực phẩm
tăng cường vitamin A giảm được 34,1% so với nhóm chứng (p<0,001).
Summary:
Malnutrition combined with vitamin A
deficiency is common in many developing
countries including Vietnam. The randomized
controlled trial study was conducted to
investigate the efficacy of daily consumption
of retinol fortified granules and oils (at the
level of 235 mcg retinol er child per day,
meet 50% RDA) of 358 the children of 36-
66 months of age at kindergarten. After 6
months of using vitamin A fortified oils and
flavoring granules was improved significantly
serum retinol concentration of children 0.98
μmol /l in baseline survey to 1.10 μmol/l after
intervention (p <0.001) and 1.02 μmol /l of
control group compared with intervention
group (p <0.05). The prevalence of marginal
vitamin A deficiency in the intervention
group was significantly reduced from 74.2%
before intervention to 41.3% (p <0.001). The
prevalence of vitamin A deficiency among
children consumed vitamin A fortified foods
was 34.1% lower than children in the control
group (p <0.001). Therefore, the use of vitamin
A fortified foods for preschool children should
be expanded on nutrition programs in areas at
risk of malnutrition to improve micronutrient
status for children in the coming period
