gấp 3,48 lần so với thuyền viên hoạt động thể lực thường xuyên.
Summary:
A cross - sectional study was conducted
through face - to - face interviews, physical
examinations, blood sugar tests for 400 ocean
crew members in 2019 to determine the
prevalenceof diabetes mellitus, blood sugar
tolerance disorders and describe some factors
related to diabetes mellitus. The study results
showed: The proportion of crew members with
diabetes mellitus and blood sugar tolerance
disorders was 3.25% and 13.25%. This rate
tends to increase with the age of the crew.
Crews with hypertension were 6.5 times more
likely to develop diabetes than the group
without hypertension. Overweight, obese crew
members are 3.5 times more likely to develop
diabetes mellitus than crew members of normal
and lean weight. Crew members with a high
waist-hip ratio index were 3.9 times more
likely to develop diabetes than crew members
with normal waist-hip ratio index. Crews who
were not physically active were 3.48 times
more likely to develop diabetes than regular
physically active crew members
